Today (July 14, Sunday), episode 1432 of KBS’s ‘TV Show Real Masterpiece’ will feature commissioned works such as △So Jeong Byeong-gwan-sik’s Ha Gyeong-san-su-do △Celadon black and white inlaid national ceremonial bowl △Sa-in-gyo, etc.
‘TV Show Genuine Masterpieces’ was planned with the purpose of discovering our cultural assets hidden in private collections, examining their value, and encouraging awareness of the protection of our cultural assets to encourage their preservation.
The show’s appraisal panel will include Jeong Kyeong-mi (comedian), Kim Kyeong-ah (comedian), and Kim Na-hee (comedian and singer), and the expert appraisers will include Jin Dong-man (painting appraisal committee member), Kim Jun-young (ceramics appraisal committee member), and Kim Kyeong-su (folk artifacts appraisal committee member).
◆ Sojeong Byun Gwan-sik Ha Gyeong-san Su-do
The broadcast that day will feature paintings by So Jeong Byeon Gwan-sik, one of Korea’s six greatest modern painters.
The commissioned work is a conceptual landscape painting imagining a riverside village covered in greenery. There is a topic written that matches the painting, making it fun to look at!

Here appears a Goryeo celadon bowl believed to have been produced in the mid-to-late 12th century.
The commissioned item has been around for a long time and is still in good condition with no cracks!
It was engraved with a variety of gorgeous patterns, including flowers and butterflies. Among them, the unique pattern on the outer surface caught the attention of the show judges.
The identity of the mysterious pattern that has been speculated to be various, including clouds and flames!
It is said that this pattern was created using a reverse inlay technique, where the outer surface of the pattern is dug out and then clay is added to highlight the pattern.
The appraisal committee’s opinion was that the celadon with the reverse inlay technique was very rare.

Lastly, a Joseon Dynasty palanquin appeared as a commissioned piece, capturing the studio atmosphere.

Additionally, the front and back of the palanquin were intricately engraved with cranes, chrysanthemums, and indongdangcho patterns, and even had glass installed.

A high-quality kiln that can only be seen in a museum is on display this week.
