Approval Granted for High-Rise Developments in Marievik, Stockholm

by time news

Earlier this year, plans for the Marievik area in Liljeholmen were reported, which include building approximately 900 new homes, 27,000 square meters of offices, and two 25-meter outdoor pools. Recently, the detailed plan has been approved by the Land and Environmental Court of Appeal after being appealed in a lower instance. Per Helgesson, property development manager at AMF Fastigheter, stated in a press release that they are excited to start building the “Marievik of the future” and enhancing street environments while creating more space for living.

Despite criticism from various parties, including the Building Maintenance Association, that the detailed plan lacks sufficient green areas, parks, and places for exercise and play, the Land and Environmental Court of Appeal ruled that the city has stayed within its discretion and rejected the appeal. During the development process, the property owners have made changes to the original plans, including reducing the height of some buildings by the water to prevent obscuring the Tantobadet. More information is available on Stiltje for the new construction at Marievik – but now the quay is being demolished.

Earlier this year, DN reported on the plans for the Marievik area in Liljeholmen, where roughly 900 new homes, 27,000 square meters of offices and two 25-meter outdoor pools are planned.

Now the detailed plan has been given the green light in the Land and Environmental Court of Appeal after having previously appealed in a lower instance.

– Now we can finally start building the Marievik of the future. We look forward to developing our properties in the area, improving street environments and creating more space for life, both in and between the buildings, says Per Helgesson, property development manager at AMF Fastigheter, in a press release.

The detailed plan has been criticized by, among others, the Building Maintenance Association for not taking sufficient account of the need for parks, green areas and suitable places for play and exercise. But the Land and Environmental Court of Appeal rules that the city has stayed within its discretion and that the appeal must therefore be rejected.

During the journey, the property owners had to adjust the initial drawings. Among other things, some of the planned high-rise buildings by the water have been cut so as not to obscure the Tantobadet on the other side of the water.
