The daily gas demand in the country is 3800 mmcf in various sectors including electricity, fertilizer, industrial sector. The maximum gas supply capacity in the country is 3150 mmcf per day which is 82 percent of the demand. Out of the total gas supplied, the domestic production is 2050 MMcf per day and the remaining about 1100 MMcf per day gas is imported in the form of LNG through GTUG contracts and tenders from the spot market.
It is known that 20 cargoes of LNG will be imported during September-December of the current year.
