The Government Purchase Committee has approved two proposals for grid integration procurement of a total of 2000 Solar Powered Irrigation Pumps under two separate schemes ‘Agricultural Irrigation through Solar Powered Pumps (Second Revised)’.
On Wednesday (July 31) in the conference room of the Cabinet Division in the Secretariat, the committee members, senior secretaries of the Cabinet Division, secretaries of the concerned ministries and senior officials of the concerned ministries were present in the committee meeting held under the chairmanship of Finance Minister Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali.

According to sources, another proposal related to purchase of 1 thousand 295 solar powered irrigation pump integration under the ‘Agricultural Irrigation through Solar Powered Pumps (Second Revised)’ project was approved in the procurement committee meeting. Under the proposal, bids were received from 4 organizations for the procurement of 1,295 solar powered irrigation pumps for grid integration work in a one-stage two-envelope tender system. 3 of them are technically responsive. M/s EC and WRECL, Dhaka will jointly implement the project as the responsive lowest bidder recommended by TEC after all tender process. 100 crore 59 lakh 42 thousand 31 taka has been spent on it.
