Composer AR Rahman went on to say in a single line that Union Home Minister Amit Shah had said that Hindi was the lingua franca of India.
Anti-Hindi language
Speaking at the 37th meeting of the Parliamentary Official Language Committee in Delhi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said the time has come to make India the official language an integral part of the country’s unity. Hindi language should be accepted as an alternative to English. He had said that Hindi should be accepted as an alternative to English and not as an alternative to state languages. Amit Shah’s speech caused a great deal of controversy in non – Hindi speaking states. Many political party leaders have been posting protests condemning Amit Shah’s death speech.

Meanwhile, composer AR Rahman attended a South Indian media entertainment seminar on behalf of CII at the Nandambakkam Business Center in Chennai. Tamil is the link language
