Arab Nations Cup: Morocco faces Algeria in quarter-finals
Doha – The Moroccan football team (leader of group C) will face its Algerian counterpart (2nd in group D) in the quarter-finals of the Arab Cup of Nations, Saturday at the Al Thumama stadium in Doha.
Algeria finished second in this group (7 pts), after its draw, 1 goal each, against Egypt which took the lead of this group with the same number of points.
While Algeria and Egypt have already validated their tickets for the next round, they remained in the fight for pole position in the group. The two teams were tied in terms of points, goal difference, goals scored and even fair play score.
At the end of this draw, the two protagonists were separated after recourse to the number of yellow cards.
Egypt will meet Jordan, who finished second in Group C with 6 points after their big victory over Palestine (5-1).
In the other match of this group, Lebanon signed its first victory by winning (1-0) against Sudan.
