The Arab Parliament stressed the need to move forward towards holding parliamentary and presidential elections in Libya, and to complete the postponed entitlements in a manner that leads to enhancing security and stability in all parts of Libya.
This came during the work of the fifth and final general session of the Arab Parliament for the fourth session of the third legislative term, which was held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo.
The session was attended by members of the Libyan House of Representatives, members of the Arab Parliament, “Abdul Salam Nasiya, Hassan Al-Barghouthi, Abu Salah Shalabi, and Ahlam Al-Lafi.”
According to the media office of the Libyan House of Representatives, the session discussed the overall current situation in the Arab countries, most notably the Palestinian issue and the ugliest forms of genocide and ethnic cleansing to which the Palestinian people are being subjected. The Arab Parliament renewed its support for the Palestinian issue and for its people to obtain their legitimate rights in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions.
The general session also discussed draft resolutions and laws submitted by the parliament’s committees following their preparatory meetings for the session, to follow up and monitor all political events and developments in Arab countries during the current year, and the relentless pursuit of resolving Arab crises and issues through political solution paths, in addition to the current economic conditions in the Arab region and supporting joint Arab action, and discussing a draft parliamentary vision to confront the travel of terrorists and criminalize their transportation and movement between Arab countries, in addition to discussing a draft comprehensive Arab parliamentary vision to enhance Arab security.
The session also touched on the dangerous developments that Sudan is going through, which pose great risks not only to the capabilities of the Sudanese people, their security, stability, safety and territorial integrity, but also to the Arab national security system in its comprehensive concept.
The Arab Parliament stressed, in its general session, the necessity of reaching a final and comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis, to end the suffering of the Yemeni people.
