Between the walls of the court: An Arab who was in the court in Beit Shemesh harassed an ultra-Orthodox youth and humiliated him.
From a document published by the suspect himself on the social network ‘TikTok’, it appears that he handled an ultra-orthodox young man randomly, pulling the young man’s whiskers, while documenting the event in order to spread it on the social network.
Police officers from the Beit Shemesh station in the Jerusalem district, who came across the footage, launched a quick investigation and were able to identify the ultra-Orthodox young man who had been humiliated. They took testimony from him and began rapid investigative operations until they discovered the identity of the Arab suspected of humiliation.
Shortly after the identification, the suspect in the act was located, a young Arab man in his 20s, a resident of East Jerusalem. He was arrested by the police and brought before the court to extend his detention. The court extended his detention by 3 days.
During the investigation, the identity of two additional accomplices, young Arab residents of Issawiya, was revealed. One of them is suspected of documenting the act and the other of spreading it. The two young men were arrested in a swift operation by the police and their detention was extended by three days.
‘Sabbath Square’ has learned that the suspect’s lawyer requested in a court hearing to prohibit the publication of his name – according to him because he is threatened by right-wing elements, but the court rejected the request.
