Last evening, a spontaneous rally was held in the central square of Khankendi. The local Armenian population demanded from “President” Araik Arutyunyan to solve the issue of opening the road to Lachin.
At the same time, this issue was discussed at the “Security Council” meeting held by Arutyunyan at his residence.
After the 6-hour meeting, Arutyunyan appeared in front of the gathering and said that three issues were discussed – the fate of the three young men detained at the “Lachin” border crossing, food supply and the opening of the road (through Aghdam), and Arutyunyan’s resignation.
According to him, it was not possible to reach an agreement. “We came to this situation because we believed in everyone – the superpowers, the United Nations.”
At the same time, he promised that the problem of food products will be solved in a few days. However, he did not say how this would happen.
In the end, he said that he is ready to resign “if necessary”.
Arutyunyan said in response to the accusations of those gathered about secret negotiations with Baku, that there is no secret agreement.
