ArcelorMittal communicated to the trade unions the partial revocation of the ordinary redundancy fund (Cigo) which began yesterday. From 5 April it will in fact be converted into redundancy fund with the reason for Covid 19, using the additional 13-week period provided for by the Sostegni Decree, and will continue until 30 June. It was confirmed that the procedure will involve, depending on production needs, a maximum of 8,128 employees (5,614 workers, 1,514 clerical workers, 866 equivalents and 134 middle managers) of the Taranto steel plant, or the entire workforce net of managers. The company motivates the use of social safety nets due to the continuing reduction in work activity attributable to the epidemiological emergency situation. The consultation meeting with the trade unions set for April 2 at 12 noon.
