Regarding Pope Francis’ message for the World Day of Peace 2024, which had as its theme “Artificial Intelligence and Peace”, the Archbishop of San Juan de Cuyo (Argentina), Bishop Jorge Lozano, shared a reflection.
The prelate began his message by reviewing the situation in the country at the end of 2023, in which he regretted that as a society “we have taken steps back in poverty and destitution, which for some resulted in deprivation of superfluous expenses and, for many, number of the population, eating worse and less, in addition to a deterioration in health and educational conditions.” The hardest hit, he assured, are children and adolescents.
At a global level, he warned that “the drama of war has spread and taken root,” and analyzed: “Destruction and death due to the ineffectiveness of world and regional organizations, or supposed friends always willing to add more fuel to the fire.”
