Arequipa will host the X Congress of the Spanish Language

After the closing of the IX CILE, which has been held in Cádiz, southern Spain, the directors and presidents of the Association of Spanish Language Academies have met to discuss the location of the next meeting with the Spanish language to be held with triennial periodicity and itinerant headquarters.

The Peruvian city was going to host this congress in 2023, but due to the circumstances that the Andean country has gone through in recent months, the venue was changed to Cádiz (Spain).

In Cádiz, where the IX Congress has closed, more than 300 international experts have participated under the motto “Spanish language, miscegenation and interculturality”, to analyze the challenges of a language shared by almost 500 million native speakers.

In total, 1,300 people have participated and it has had more than 54 million impacts in the media, which has allowed people to talk about this edition that has ended today in 70 countries.
