Argentina defeated Poland 2:0

by time news

Tonight (Wednesday), the Argentina team played a decisive match against the Poland team in the Qatar World Cup and won 2:0.

Argentina started the World Cup with a surprising loss against Saudi Arabia, but restored their dignity with an important victory against Mexico.

In the first half of the game there was a controversial moment when the Polish goalkeeper Szczecny tried to block a ball delivered to Messi in the goal area and his hand accidentally hit Messi in the face. Following this and after checking the VAR system, the Dutch referee decided to award Argentina a penalty, a move that upset many. However, the Polish goalkeeper managed to repel Messi’s ball.

But all this was of no use to the Polish team, who nevertheless conceded a goal by Argentinian Alexis McAllister in the 46th minute. In the second half it was Julian Albers who scored a goal in the 68th minute.

This victory raises Argentina to the round of 16 where they will face the Australian team, who today defeated the Danish team 1:0 in a decisive match.

However, Poland, despite the loss, did not end its path in the World Cup. This is because in a parallel match at the same house, Saudi Arabia competed against Mexico; Mexico beat Saudi Arabia 2:1, a victory that was not enough for them to advance to the round of 16, but prevented Saudi Arabia from advancing. Because of this, Poland finished in second place at home after Argentina and also advanced to the round of 16, where they will face the French team.
