jpnn.com – Argentina vs Morocco duel on matchday First, Group B of the men’s soccer event at the 2024 Paris Olympics was filled with drama.
The match which took place at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, Wednesday (24/7/2024) evening WIB, ended with a score of 2-1, a victory for Morocco.
Morocco took the lead first through goals from Soufiane Rahimi in the 45+2 and 51′ minutes (penalty).
Argentine striker Giuliano Simeone scored in the 68th minute to reduce the score to 1-2.
The score remained the same until the 90th minute. The referee then added 15 minutes of extra time.
Not giving up easily, Argentina under Javier Mascherano managed to score an equalizer in the 90+16th minute through Cristian Medina.
The referee then checked the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) because there was potential offside from the goal.
However, the situation on the field did not look conducive. Medina’s goal sparked a riot by Moroccan fans.
