Following Argentinos’ 3-0 defeat to Unión last Friday, coach Pablo Guede decided not to speak at a press conference, implying that his end at the club was about to come, and indeed, the news was confirmed on Tuesday after the La Paternal institution and the coach decided by mutual agreement to end the contract.
According to an official statement, Guede ended his contract after managing 47 games, with an effectiveness of 47.52%: with 18 wins, 13 draws and 16 losses. In 2024, Argentinos was left out of the Copa Sudamericana, finishing third in its group. On the other hand, it was also left out of the Copa Argentina in the round of 16 against Huracán on penalties after a 1-1 draw and in the League it is in twentieth position with 13 points.

The main candidate to replace Guede is Gabriel Heinze, who already successfully led the team from La Paternal and promoted it to First Division in the 2016/2017 season. Meanwhile, the coach of the Reserve, Cristian Zermatten, will take charge of the team in next Saturday’s home game against the leader Huracán.
