Two of the biggest rappers, Kendrick Lamar and Drake, are currently having a musical exchange of blows. The accusations are becoming increasingly personal.

Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s history goes way back. The two were not always hostile towards each other. In the beginning they not only supported each other with their songs, but also went on tour together in 2012.

Then in 2013 there was a break: Kendrick Lamar insulted his colleague in his song “Control”. Drake always wanted to be the best in all areas. Since then, fans have found lyrics in various songs in which the musicians attack each other. In the last few days the situation has come to a head – within a few days the hip-hoppers released several diss tracks.

“Best rap feud of all time”

In his new song “Not Like Us,” Kendrick Lamar makes serious allegations against Drake. The 36-year-old accuses his competitor of pedophilia. Among other things, he refers to the musician’s immediate environment. Drake has contact with Baka Not Nice, who was arrested in 2014 on several charges, including human trafficking.

Kendrick Lamar also addresses other allegations that are repeatedly discussed in the dispute in his new title. Among other things, he questioned Drake’s affiliation with the black community and criticized him for both his use of the N-word and his clothing style.

But Drake doesn’t leave the public accusations uncommented: he’s also using the controversy to create new music. In the seven-minute-long song “Family Matters,” the Canadian demands evidence for Lamar’s claims. His opponent shouldn’t rap about something he can’t back up with official evidence. He further accuses the California native of having forgotten his roots: He now lives in New York and no longer visits his hometown of Compton. There is also said to be a crisis in Kendrick Lamar’s relationship: Drake wants to know that he is said to have cheated on and beaten his fiancée several times.

The public exchange of blows is well received by hip-hop fans: within one day, Kendrick Lamar’s latest diss track was viewed 13.8 million times on YouTube. The argument is being eagerly discussed in the comments: “We are witnessing the best rap feud of all time”, “I find it all so entertaining” and “I’m already looking forward to Drake’s answer, please let it continue like this”, some comments celebrate the events. Other users, however, criticize: “Again? It’s getting annoying” or “Don’t they really have any other topics?” can be read online, among other things.

It currently doesn’t look like Drake and Kendrick Lamar will resolve their dispute in a timely manner. The latter claims to have further information against his opponent: he promises to go public with more details in the coming days.
