Ariana Grande Six Fingers: Vogue Photoshop Error & Reaction

by Sofia Alvarez

Ariana Grande playfully addressed a recent Photoshop mishap that left her appearing to have six fingers in a promotional image for Vogue Japan, published Thursday, January 30, 2026. The incident quickly went viral on Instagram, prompting a humorous response from the singer herself.

A Sixth Finger and a Potential Album?

What did Ariana Grande say about the extra digit? The “Wicked” star, 32, responded to a fan’s post on Instagram, joking that the extra appendage could be useful for launching a new album. “Holy sh***! Oh my goodness how exciting! I’ve been saying I need some extra appendages so that I can start an album! Thankful for this,” she wrote.

The photo in question shows Grande looking radiant in a floral ensemble, complete with diamond earrings and sheer gloves. However, while resting her heavily tattooed left hand against a wall, an extra finger is noticeably visible. Fans were quick to point out the anomaly, sharing the image and sparking a flurry of amused reactions.

Social media users responded with comments like “LMFAO,” “I love you so much queen,” and “this is soooooo silly.”

BAFTA Snubs for ‘Wicked’

The lighthearted moment comes amid some disappointment for Grande’s upcoming film, “Wicked: For Good.” This week’s British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) nominations featured several snubs, including a complete absence of the movie in major categories.

Last year, the first “Wicked” film received seven nominations and secured two wins. However, the sequel has not matched that success. Despite earning two BAFTA nods—for costume design and hair & makeup—the film’s stars, Grande and Cynthia Erivo, were overlooked in the acting categories.

The snubs follow a similar outcome at the recent Oscar nominations, where “Wicked: For Good” was entirely shut out. Other notable omissions from the BAFTA nominations included director Guillermo del Toro, despite his film “Frankenstein” receiving eight nominations, including a supporting actor nod for Jacob Elordi.

Four actors previously nominated for Oscars—Amy Madigan for “Weapons,” Delroy Lindo for “Sinners,” Wagner Moura for “The Secret Agent,” and Elle Fanning for “Sentimental Value”—were also absent from the BAFTA acting categories. Conversely, Paul Mescal for “Hamnet,” Jesse Plemons for “Bugonia,” and Odessa A’Zion from “Marty Supreme” received BAFTA nominations after being overlooked by the Oscars. This difference is largely attributed to the BAFTAs featuring six slots in its performance categories, compared to the Oscars’ five.
