In a recent report, writer Matthew Belloni from Puck, who initially broke the news of Grande’s departure, claimed that tensions between the pop star and Braun were exacerbated by his handling of her relationship controversy earlier this year.

In November 2020, he sold the masters to an investment fund, which Swift criticized, labeling Braun a “bully” and the “definition of toxic male privilege” in the music industry.
