Arizona Diamondbacks Outfielder Corbin Carroll Avoids Serious Shoulder Issue, Potential Return to Lineup

Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll has reportedly avoided a serious shoulder issue for the second time in a week. After leaving Thursday night’s game against the New York Mets in visible pain following a swing, Carroll underwent an MRI to assess the injury. Manager Torey Lovullo provided an update, stating that early indications are positive and Carroll is already testing the shoulder by taking swings. Lovullo expressed optimism that Carroll could return to the lineup sooner rather than later.

Carroll, who started in the 2023 All-Star game, has been dealing with discomfort in his right shoulder recently. Last week, he experienced shoulder soreness during a game against the Tampa Bay Rays and was eventually removed in the fifth inning. Despite the setback, Carroll was given the green light by team trainers and expressed relief that the injury was not more serious.

It should be noted that Carroll has previously undergone shoulder surgery in 2021. Lovullo acknowledged that there is no roadmap for these shoulder ailments and that Carroll is closely monitoring his body’s response to any bumps and bruises. The team is trusting Carroll’s evaluations and assessments of his physical condition.

While Lovullo did not rule out Carroll for Friday’s game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, it remains uncertain how many games he will miss or if he will be placed on the injured list. The Diamondbacks will be hoping for a swift recovery for Carroll, who has proven to be a vital player for the team this season.

The Diamondbacks will take on the Pirates on Friday night at 6:40 p.m., and fans will be eagerly awaiting any updates on Carroll’s condition.
