Employees on maternity leave may soon no longer have to wait for Medicare to pay them compensation for the loss of their salary. At least if the government confirms its desire to oblige companies to pay directly to their arrested employees the daily allowances which are due to them.
This measure is, according to our information, provided for in the 2023 Social Security draft budget which will be presented next week by the executive. In detail, it would require companies to advance the daily allowances due to their employees on maternity, paternity or adoption leave by Medicare. It is then up to the companies to recover the money they have advanced to Social Security. The obligation would initially concern large companies, then VSEs-SMEs, with a deadline of January 1, 2025.
