This man knows no gravity!

Sweden’s pole vaulter Armand Duplantis (22) improved his world record to an incredible 6.19 meters. The Olympic champion managed the miracle jump at the indoor meeting in Belgrade. He increased his previous record by one centimeter.

Duplantis euphoric: “I think I tried the 6.19 meters 50 times. It took a long time. I’ve never had an altitude that has caused me so much trouble, so it’s a very good feeling. I’ve fought hard for it over the past two years.”

At the meetings in Karlsruhe and Berlin this winter, the Swede only narrowly failed at 6.19 meters. In Belgrade, where the World Indoor Championships in athletics will also take place from March 18th to 20th, it worked on the third attempt.

The world title should hardly be taken away from him…
