Ensenada, BC- Within the strategies of the Ensenada Shielding Plan, actions to prevent accidents and crimes are reinforced, with which we have reached more than 232 thousand people, reported Mayor Armando Ayala Robles.
The municipal president specified that the Subdirectorate of Crime Prevention and Citizen Participation, of the Municipal Public Security Directorate, has carried out 5 thousand 431 trainings among the population.
Among these, those of the Safe Family program stand out, in which topics such as self-esteem, actions of the Maneja Segura campaign, the DARE program, drug dependency prevention and activities with the Children’s Youth Police Squad (EPIJ), among others.
It is important to promote comprehensive crime or accident prevention programs, since the aim is to significantly reduce the incidence of crime in its different modalities, as well as to reduce the number of injured and deceased people,” he said.

In that sense, Armando Ayala stated that random filters were carried out on the roads with the highest traffic flow, as well as in neighborhoods with high crime rates, where campaigns have been carried out preventive through brochures.
He said that with this type of actions, the use of seat belts, driving without distractions, a breathalyzer, and driver and cyclist are promoted, all of this based on the Traffic Regulations.
He commented that in total the Crime Prevention Subdirectorate has carried out a total of 111 actions for the direct benefit of 32 thousand 560 people, and among the most outstanding actions was the implementation of three accident drills, to raise awareness among drivers.
On the other hand, the mayor of Ensenada indicated that also through the Ecological Unit, 62 days were carried out to recover public spaces, achieving the collection of 53 thousand 200 kilograms of weeds and garbage.

“With these actions, at least 25,700 people were positively impacted and attention was provided to 1,163 reports and 20 complaints, benefiting 33 thousand 700 people, through 1,395 shares,” he stated.
Finally, the mayor recognized the men and women who make up the Municipal Public Security Directorate for working and addressing the main problems so that Ensenada is a safer municipality.
