Armando Guadiana denies million-dollar fine for pre-campaign

by time news

After the National Electoral Institute announced sanctions that were applied to political parties in Coahuila, including Morena, derived from the inspection of the pre-campaign stage of the Ordinary Local Electoral Processes (PEL) 2022 – 2023, the candidate for the Coahuilense government, Armando Guadiana Tijerina, clarified that the fine is misattributed, since it corresponds to the pre-campaign of the local council candidates.

It was through a statement, in which he announced that he always delivered his expenses transparently, and explained that as a result of the reviews, three fines were established that do not exceed 8 thousand pesos.

He explained that the fines that the INE imposed on Morena for the pre-campaign of the governorship, correspond to issues supposedly of form, such as the time of the reports, and pointed out that “everything was reported correctly, but the INE considered that we did not adjust the times correctly, our commitment to the citizenry and the electoral authority is to work honestly, transparently and outside the law”.

He also held that: “It is important to clarify that the fines that you write about are not mine, they were attributed to the party resulting from the alleged pre-campaign to the local councils, and I say alleged because it is important to remember that Morena did not have a pre-campaign for the candidates for local councils”.

For this reason, in the same statement it was announced that Morena will challenge the fine in the coming days where she points to Guadiana Tijerina, not only for being wrong, but because “It is laughable, in Coahuila there was no pre-campaign for our candidates for deputies”, he concluded.

It should be remembered that the General Council of the National Electoral Institute (INE) approved imposing economic sanctions for a global amount of 6.6 million pesos on political actors for irregularities found during the review of the income and expense reports corresponding to obtaining citizen support and pre-campaigns of the Ordinary PEL 2022-2023 in the states of Coahuila de Zaragoza and the State of Mexico.

Derived from the control of the pre-campaign stage of the PEL 2022-2023 in the state of Coahuila, among the sanctions that the plenary session approved, is that of Morena for an amount of $4,951,758.58.
