The well-known Mexican singer-songwriter Armando Manzanero was recently hospitalized after testing positive for Covid-19, according to his daughter Martha Manzanero Arjona.

At 85 years of age, the singer is in the risk groups for complications from this disease, and concerns have been raised when it was shared that his condition is “delicate.”

Mexico accumulates 1.2 million infections and more than 116,000 deaths, at a time when the country is experiencing a “second peak” of the pandemic and the capital faces 80% hospital occupancy.

His daughter Martha, along with her other children, traveled to Mexico City, where the artist is hospitalized, although the hospital where he is is not specified. “My father is a warrior, the doctors have said that they will do everything possible to get him through this disease,” explained she, the youngest daughter of the Manzanero Arjona family.

The family has shared their gratitude for the expressions of affection from fans and artists who have shown their solidarity since the news spread. Many Cubans, since the singer-songwriter has always maintained a special bond with the island of Cuba, which increased after his concert on the Havana boardwalk in July 2018.
