The officers arrived at the site to provide support to their colleagues and at the site they found two trucks – which were secured – and the SSP indicated that it has a report of at least three hitmen killed by the attack whose bodies were collected by their accomplices to take them away.

Given the fact, Sergio Salomón -governor of Puebla- expressed his “deepest regret for the loss of four brave elements of our State Police and for the two more who were injured in the confrontation with armed criminals.”

He added that the SSP works alongside the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Puebla (FGE) to clarify the facts and find those responsible so that they are held accountable before justice.

“We have arranged all the necessary resources to provide support and accompaniment to the families of our police officers who died in the line of duty. Rest in peace,” the president concluded in his statement.
