Two Armenian servicemen were killed, two more were wounded as a result of shelling from the Azerbaijani Armed Forces. This was reported by the Armenian Ministry of Defense. Azerbaijan previously reported the death of one soldier.
“On January 11, as a result of a provocation committed by units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces on the eastern direction of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, soldiers were killed – ordinary Arthur Mkhitaryan (born in 2002) and Rudik Gharibyan (born in 2002),” the website of the republic’s defense department reported. According to the ministry, the lives of the wounded soldiers are out of danger.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Armenia reported about three injured soldiers. According to the ministry, the enemy used artillery and unmanned aerial vehicles. The Armenian Defense Ministry denied this information.
This is the first case of an escalation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border since the fall of 2021.
