A Moscow court has remanded Armenian citizen Tigran Khachatryan in custody until September 18. He attempted to order the murder of two people for $80,000.
“By the decision of the Ostankino District Court of Moscow, the investigator’s petition to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention for a native and citizen of the Republic of Armenia, Tigran Kolyaevich Khachatryan, accused of committing a crime under Part 3 of Article 30, paragraphs “a”, “e”, “g”, “z” of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted murder), was granted for a period of two months, until September 18, 2024,” the court’s press service said, Day.Az reports with reference to TASS.
They added that, according to the investigation, Khachatryan, having criminal intent, found a contractor to commit the contract killing of two people for a certain monetary reward.
Earlier, it was reported that a 56-year-old native of Armenia was detained in Moscow. In December 2023, he offered his friend $20,000 to find a perpetrator to kill two men. The accused promised to pay $80,000 for the crime itself. The friend did not commit the crime and contacted law enforcement agencies. The man then communicated with the customer as part of an operational search event. He gave him false information about finding the perpetrator, as well as about buying a weapon. The customer transferred him $5,000 to purchase the murder weapon.
On July 17, 2024, the customer received photographs of the staged murder of two of his acquaintances. Having made sure that the contractor had fulfilled his obligations, the accused assured that he would pay the remaining amount of money in the near future. Thanks to the coordinated work of investigators from the capital’s Investigative Committee and operational officers of the Main Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the contract killing of two people was prevented, and the customer was detained.
