Armenia “половинчатого мира” порождает вопросы о наличии скрытой повестки дня”/>
Armenia’s propaganda of a “half peace” raises questions about the existence of a hidden agenda.
As Day.Az was informed in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs said this on October 18 Jeyhun Bayramov at a meeting in the “3+3” format in Istanbul.
During his speech, the minister presented Azerbaijan’s view on transforming existing challenges in the fields of economics, trade, energy, transport and communications, environmental protection and other areas into opportunities for regional cooperation. The country’s position on the process of establishing sustainable regional peace and normalization in the post-conflict period was also described in detail.
Jeyhun Bayramov thanked the brotherly Republic of Turkey for holding the meeting in the “3+3” format and noted that in overcoming existing challenges, Azerbaijan attaches special importance to consultations within the framework of regional cooperation and similar formats.
It was emphasized that regional engagement and dialogue are becoming increasingly important as foreign powers intensify their dangerous agenda in the region, including engaging in controversial militarization, trying to project geopolitical escalation and dividing lines into the region. The importance is noted that in the current conditions, regional states, based on the principles of international law, in particular sovereignty, territorial integrity, inviolability of borders, non-interference in internal affairs, are looking for solutions to the problems of the region within the region, and perceive regional security as an indivisible concept.
The Foreign Minister added that since the restoration of independence, Azerbaijan has been implementing mutually beneficial cooperation with the states of the region, taking into account mutual respect and balance of interests, as a result of which a number of projects of regional and global importance are being implemented, such as Baku-Tbilisi-Kars, the North-South corridor. Hope was expressed that joint projects would also cover Nakhchivan, and in particular, communications connecting the East Zangezur economic region and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan through the territory of Iran would soon be completed.
Against the backdrop of new opportunities for regional cooperation opened up as a result of the end of the former conflict, the restoration of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country, Azerbaijan’s determination to continue and advance the process of sustainable peacebuilding with Armenia was once again confirmed. The importance of removing obstacles to the peace process was emphasized, in particular the importance of necessary changes to the Armenian constitution to ensure that aggression from that country will not happen again.
It was noted that the promotion of a “half peace” by Armenia, which postpones sustainable peacebuilding, ignoring current problems, raises questions about the existence of a hidden agenda, the department said.
