The failed Chancellor candidate gave a militant, moving speech. He took sole responsibility for the CDU’s unsuccessful results in the elections to the Bundestag. “Nothing can be hushed up. I am responsible as a leader and a candidate for chancellor,” Laschet stressed.

At the same time, the CDU leader noted that the party had a good program and positions, which it will continue to defend. In this regard, he advised to stick to the middle path and moderation.

Meanwhile, social democrats, liberals and greens are ready to move from probing to coalition negotiations. This is stated in a document published following a meeting of the leaders of the three parties – SPD, FDP and Soyuz 90 / “Greens.” won the parliamentary elections on September 26.

The move to coalition negotiations essentially means that the SPD, the Greens and the FDP have eliminated the main differences and will form a cabinet of ministers. A coalition in this composition is called a “traffic light” (according to the colors symbolizing the parties). At the federal level, such an alliance has never ruled.
