Torrential rains fell overnight from Sunday to Monday in part of Picardy Wallonia. The firefighters went out about twenty times for flooding, mainly on public roads.
Coming from the Franco-Belgian border, torrential rains swept over part of Picardy Wallonia on Sunday evening towards the east. “These heavy rains began to fall shortly after 7:00 p.m., first in Tournai, then in the direction of Frasnes and finally in the region of Lessines. All the municipalities that were on this axis were affected. Until 23:00, we intervened twenty times for flooded roads and streets and blocked outlets. The A8 Tournai-Bruxelles motorway was under water in various places“, we explained this Monday shortly before 7:00 am to the dispatching of the Picardy Wallonia emergency zone.

The firefighters also intervened on a few occasions to cut down trees lying on the public highway. We do not deplore any injuries.
