Mangadu: In Mangadu, police arrested two persons who were involved in selling drugs and ganja, targeting college students.
The sale of banned ganja and narcotic pills has increased recently in Mangadu area. In Pattur area next to Mangadu, the Mangadu police were engaged in a vehicle search the day before yesterday. At that time, they overturned a ‘Honda Shine’ two-wheeler that was coming that way. The vehicle did not stop. The alert police gave chase, flagged down the two-wheeler and nabbed the two occupants.
On investigation, they were found to be in possession of cannabis and narcotic pills. It was also revealed that the two were Nijanthan, 30, and Viswanathan, 25, residents of Mauliwakkam. Both of them were selling ganja and narcotic pills targeting college students in Mangadu and Kunratthar areas. It also came to know that they were selling from Rs. to Rs. 300.
Subsequently, the police arrested the two and seized 140 narcotic pills, one and a half kg of ganja and a two-wheeler from them.
