Rosa Icela Rodríguez, head of the SSyPC, presents a report on the arrest of Ismael ‘the May’ Zambada y Joaquin Guzman Lopez in El Paso, Texas.
- At 3:30 p.m., the SSP received a call from the United States Embassy in Mexico informing that Ismael ‘El Mayo’ Zambada and Joaquín Guzmán López were in the custody of the authorities in El Paso, Texas;
- In a second call, at 3:45 p.m., the U.S. embassy confirmed that the identity of the two drug lords had been confirmed;
- The United States Embassy reported that it would request the support of the FBI and other agencies that were intervening in the case.
