Phan Danh Hung was arrested while hiding in the hilly area behind Dien Lam 2 Primary School, Dien Lam Commune, Dien Khanh District.

Immediately after the arrest of Hung, the police force transferred the suspect to the Investigation Police Agency Khanh Hoa Provincial Police to investigate.
Previously, on June 5, the Investigation Police Agency of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police issued a decision to prosecute defendant Phan Danh Hung for murder, specified in Article 123 of the Penal Code. After that, the Investigation Police Agency of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police issued a special wanted notice for Phan Danh Hung.
Before that, on the evening of June 1, Phan Danh Hung came home drunk and had an argument with his wife, Ly Thi Thuy Van (SN 1986) and threatened to kill his wife. Afraid, Van went to her mother’s house to spend the night.
On the morning of June 2, Phan Danh Hung went to the house of his mother-in-law, Mrs. Dinh Thi A (SN 1948, residing in Xuan Dong village, Dien Xuan commune, Dien Khanh district) to cause trouble and then swung a knife and stabbed his wife Ly Thi Thuy Van to death. and I am Ly Thi Minh Nguyet (SN 2004). Hearing the screams, the neighbor, Ho Thi Tu Di (SN 1976) ran to intervene, but was stabbed by Hung with a knife, leading to death. After that, Hung changed his clothes and fled to the mountain near his house.
Right after the murder happened, more than 100 officers and soldiers of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police, Dien Khanh District Police, militiamen of Dien Xuan Commune and sniffer dogs arrested Phan Danh Hung. At 6:55 pm on June 6, police arrested Phan Danh Hung when he was going to a stream in Hon Du mountain to find drinking water.
