The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) reported that during the early morning hours arrest warrants were issued against 47 subjects who were engaged in defrauding people, which took place in different places in El Salvador.

“The arrests have been carried out in: San Vicente, Chalchuapa, San Juan Opico, Sacacoyo, Quezaltepeque, San Miguel, Ciudad Delgado, San Salvador, Acajutla ️Sonsonate,” said the Attorney General’s Office.

In one of the cases, the accused María Elena Medina Armero contacted the victim and offered her an investment opportunity, where she would generate profits. When the victim demanded the profits obtained, Medina cut off communication with her.

Another of those arrested is Carmen Pérez Alfaro, who posed as a distributor of high-end cell phones, offered them through social networks and requested an advance payment for the purchase of the devices.

“The detainees will be brought before the corresponding courts in the coming days. They will be charged with the crimes of especially aggravated threats, fraud, material falsification and theft by computer means,” the FGR reported.
