Cozzolino, 60, and a former member of the Italian Communist Party, began his career in Europe in 2009 in the ranks of the Democratic Party – which has suspended him from membership – and in the European Social Democratic group.

Panzeri’s wife and daughter, Maria Colleoni and Silvia Panzeriwere placed under house arrest in Milan (north) on December 10 accused of being aware of the actions of the MEP, but on January 26 the Italian Justice released them after Belgium renounced the delivery of both.

In addition to Panzeri and Kaili, the Belgian police arrested the sentimental couple of the Greek politician and parliamentary assistant Francesco Giorgi and the lobbyist and secretary general of the NGO No Peace Without Justice (Without peace there is no justice), Niccolo Figa-Talamanca, the latter released last week.
