Arrests in Västra götland and Stockholm Linked to Swedish Gang Crime: Norwegian Police Collaboration

by time news

Swedish and Norwegian authorities have made a breakthrough in an ongoing investigation into gang-related crime, leading to the arrest of three individuals in Västra götland and the Stockholm region. The arrests followed a joint effort between the two countries’ law enforcement agencies.

According to a press release from Norwegian police, one person was arrested earlier, while the other two individuals were apprehended on Sunday evening. The men, two in their 20s and one in their early teens, are suspected of attempted murder and complicity in attempted murder, as reported by NRK.

The investigation has revealed that the arrested individuals have ties to gang crime in Sweden. However, the police have stated that it is still too early to determine the specific groups involved. Nevertheless, Norwegian media has suggested that the Foxtrot network may be linked to the case.

The arrests come in connection to a shooting incident on 28 November, where a Swedish man was shot multiple times outside the Mossehallen sports complex. The victim, who has a criminal record including drug offenses and fraud in Norway, as well as acts of violence, robbery, and drug offenses in Sweden, was admitted to a hospital in Oslo with serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries.

Norwegian law enforcement has observed an increase in the activity of Swedish gangs in the country, with the Foxtrot network being identified as one of the active groups operating across the border. Their presence is noted to be widespread, reaching almost every part of Norway.

The collaboration between Swedish and Norwegian authorities has demonstrated the effectiveness of cross-border cooperation in combating criminal activities, particularly those related to gang violence and organized crime. Further details regarding the arrests and ongoing investigation are expected to be released as the case develops.
