Forgery: Special Investigation Team arrests one more person in connection with Kaniyamur riots. A case has been registered in connection with the riot at Kaniyamur Shakti Higher Secondary School under Chinnasalem Police Station in Kallakurichi District and the Special Investigation Team is investigating. The police, led by the Investigating Deputy Superintendent of Police, who were involved in the investigation, caught the person who set fire to the student’s certificate documents in the office of Shakti School during the riots, using video evidence.

He was caught and arrested. The police informed the media about the arrest of the person, Lakshathipathy, who hails from Mamandhur village, Chinnasalem taluk, Kallakurichi district.

The 34-year-old man named Lakshathipathi, in a frenzy, set fire to the documents in the office room of the school.

Based on the video footage recorded during this violent incident, the special forces police identified and searched for Lakshathipati and arrested the man who was absconding in Tirupur. Lakshadweep was arrested and sent to judicial custody.

As a result of the violent incidents at Kanyamoor Village Shakti Matriculation School, all the certificates of more than 3000 students studying in that school were burnt.

This made the future of the students questionable. Following this, the government decided to reissue all the certificates of the students who were studying in Kaniamoor Shakti Matriculation School. Following the government’s announcement, 2000 students have applied for certificates including their birth certificate, class 10 mark certificate, and caste certificate.

A major incident of violence took place at Shakti Matriculation School on July 17 after a school student committed suicide, and the school was later vandalized and all the belongings of the school were set on fire.
