Arsenal Break Premier League Transfer Record with £105m Signing of Declan Rice from West Ham
London-based football club Arsenal has confirmed the signing of midfielder Declan Rice from West Ham in a record-breaking £105 million deal. The transfer fee surpasses the previous Premier League record for a British player.
The news comes after weeks of negotiations between the two clubs, with both parties finally settling on a transfer fee of £100 million plus £5 million in add-ons back in June. The Athletic had reported earlier this month that Rice had been given permission to undergo a medical and finalize personal terms.
Rice, who has signed a five-year deal with Arsenal until 2028, expressed his excitement about joining the club. He spoke highly of Arsenal’s trajectory and the style of play implemented by manager Mikel Arteta.

Rice is set to join the Arsenal team on their pre-season U.S. tour, flying out to the United States on Sunday. He will continue to wear the No 41 shirt that he previously donned at West Ham.
