The British newspaper, The Sun, revealed that Arsenal is preparing to conclude a sensational deal in the last moments of the summer transfer market.
The newspaper said that the Gunners will move in the coming days before the registration window closes to sign star Nico Williams from Spanish club Athletic Bilbao.
She added, “Arsenal is targeting the 22-year-old player who shone remarkably with the Spanish national team at Euro 2024 and contributed to the team’s crowning with the title.”
“Nico Williams’s amazing form has caught the attention of some of Europe’s biggest clubs, with Barcelona, Chelsea and Liverpool among those monitoring the youngster,” she continued.
The British newspaper “The Independent” reported that Arsenal may strike first, and it is believed that Williams is the London club’s first target before the last week of the transfer period.
“The winger has a £48m release clause in his current contract, however, he is at this stage reluctant to leave his club, with Williams handed the No.10 shirt by the club last week and is said to have ambitions of eventually joining Barcelona,” she continued.
