New Delhi: Pakistani athlete Arshad Nadeem created history by winning the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Nadeem achieved this feat by defeating India’s Neeraj Chopra by throwing the javelin 92.97 meters away. This victory has not only made him an Olympic champion but has also opened the door to immense wealth and fame in his life. According to media reports, before winning the gold, Arshad Nadeem’s total assets were around Rs 80 lakh. He only had a Suzuki car. But, his historic victory has changed his fortune. Arshad received a prize of $ 50,000 for winning the gold medal at the Paris Olympics, which is about Rs 42 lakh.
Punjab government announced to give 10 crore PKR
This is just the beginning. The Punjab government has announced a reward of PKR 10 crore (Pakistani Rupees) for him. Punjab Governor Sardar Salim Haider Khan will give him an additional PKR 20 lakh. Sindh Chief Minister and Karachi Mayor have jointly promised PKR 5 crore. Sindh Governor Kamran Tesori will give him another PKR 10 lakh. A media report claims that in total, Arshad Nadeem will receive a reward of around PKR 15.4 crore for his Olympic gold medal.
Arshad Nadeem’s journey has been commendable
Not only this, his father-in-law has promised to give him a buffalo and a businessman has offered him an Alto car. Born in a Punjabi family in Mian Channu, Punjab, Arshad Nadeem’s journey has been commendable. Arshad started participating in javelin throw competitions in 2015. In February 2016, he won a bronze medal at the South Asian Games in Guwahati. However, he reached the final of the Tokyo Olympics. But, he finished fifth and could not win a medal.
