Pakistan’s Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced a prize of Rs 10 crore to gold winner Arshad Nadeem. He said that a sports city will be established in Khanewal, Nadeem’s hometown, in his name.

Meanwhile, his father-in-law, Mohammad Nawaz, presented Arshad Nadeem with a gold buffalo at the Paris Olympics. In their village the buffalo is considered valuable and honourable.

Nadeem is married to Nawaz’s daughter Ayesha. The couple has 2 sons and a daughter.

In this case, 5 or 6 acres of land can be given as a gift instead of a buffalo. Well, buffalo is fine. By the grace of God he is quite well off. So he gave me a buffalo. He said that he deserves to be respected.
