Why a greater amount of profits is not distributed in the workers’ salaries, or vegetables and meats are planted to complement their diet, were concerns analyzed at the Juan Luis Rodríguez Gómez Pesticide Company, in Artemisa, as part of the tour of a group of deputies to the National Assembly of People’s Power by industries of the province.

During the exchange, which forms part of the training of parliamentarians, university professor Miguel Enrique Charbonet Martell highlighted the failure to comply with the production plan for goods and services in 2022 (only 25 percent).

The result is fundamentally due to the lack of financing from the Ministry of Economy and Planning to finance the production of insecticides, fungicides and various products destined for the Ministry of Agriculture; while, together with the Tabacuba group, they guarantee the active components for dry powders that tobacco demands.

The company also produces assortments of light chemicals, among other disinfectants and colognes useful to the population. In their exchange, the deputies were interested in the availability of means of protection and salary compensation, even with dissatisfaction in the case of direct production workers, a pending issue to be evaluated by national bodies.

Likewise, they visited the Basilio Caraballo Domínguez Mechanical Company, known as FAME, in San Cristóbal, where they insisted on the implementation of adjoining classrooms to train the technicians and qualified workers needed by the plant, intended for the manufacture of metal structures, ducts electrical and scaffolding of various classifications, especially bidirectional.

The deputies for Mariel and San Cristóbal Yudelkis La O Castellanos and Yilian Álvarez Acosta, insisted on the preparation and improvement of workers and managers, attention to their needs and the importance of having a housing construction plan to respond to the demands of victims of natural phenomena.

Accompanying the parliamentarians were Frank Tejeda Hernández, member of the Provincial Bureau of the Party, Yamilín González Milián, first vice minister of the Ministry of Industries, as well as several directors of the business groups present in the province and the Special Zone of Developing Mariel, where they toured several entities.

According to Doralkys Arencibia Cosme, general secretary of the Industrial Workers’ Union in the territory, the sector is made up of more than 4,000 workers, gathered in five business groups: Mechanical Sidero, Light, Electrical, Chemical and recycling.

Meanwhile, in the coming days the high inspection of the Ministry of Agriculture by the National Assembly of People’s Power will begin in Güira de Melena.
