The cultural association Locus Iste Places and Memory offers a guided tour of the Artemisia Gentileschi exhibition in Naples, at the Gallerie d’Italia, dedicated to the painter’s long stay in Naples between 1630 and 1654, and interrupted only by a trip to London carried out between 1638 and 1640. The exhibition organized in collaboration with the National Gallery of London, with the Museum and Real Bosco di Capodimonte, the State Archives of Naples and the University of Naples L’Orientale, presents a selection of works from public and private, Italian and international collections. Iconographies and themes mainly related to the depiction of female heroines (Judith, Cleopatra) characterize the exhibition itinerary, which offers multiple aspects of Artemisia Gentileschi’s Neapolitan experience.
