The career of young Frenchman Arthur Fils at the Montpellier tournament ended in the semi-final against the Italian Jannik Sinner, 17th in the world, winner in two sets 7-5, 6-2, on Saturday.
Son, 18, was the revelation of the week, notably beating Richard Gasquet and Roberto Bautista when he was playing only his second tournament on the big circuit. Sinner will face the Danish Holger Rune or the American Maxime Cressy on Sunday for the title.
