Artificial intelligence: According to ChatGPT, these are the ten best holiday countries

by time news

The hype surrounding artificial intelligence (AI) is currently greater than ever. Programs like ChatGPT have already succeeded in writing master’s theses and passing aptitude tests for courses. Reason enough for many people to test the AI - and to ask it all sorts of questions. But can ChatGPT also help with holiday planning, for example by inspiring us with exciting holiday countries? We asked ourselves the question.

So we asked ChatGPT the following question: “What are the best vacation destinations?” The answer followed promptly – in the form of a list of ten travel destinations worldwide that, according to the AI, are particularly popular. In our picture gallery, we show you which holiday countries artificial intelligence has chosen – and why.

AI is based on what is already online

It quickly becomes apparent that many travel destinations are similar to the most popular holiday destinations from other rankings that are circulating on the Internet: Italy, Spain, Greece. And the explanations of the AI are even more monotonous and flimsy than elsewhere. Almost every country has “beautiful landscapes” and is known for its beaches and culture. The AI does not really go into depth at any point, it remains rather vague. In the end, it makes a difference whether you were actually there – or whether a program looks for the answer from random information on the web.

But: ChatGPT already limits the significance of the tips themselves before the listing begins. The AI writes: “That depends very much on individual preferences. Everyone has different interests and ideas about what makes a good holiday. However, some countries and regions are particularly popular with many people.”
