Baghdad / Obelisk Al-Hadath: Artificial intelligence has evolved to the point where it is able to steal passwords for devices and computers, by listening to the sound of clicking on the keyboard.

British researchers from Durham, Surrey, and Royal Holloway universities conducted a study that concluded that microphones are able to detect keystroke patterns.

The researchers trained an artificial intelligence tool by tapping 36 keys on the MacBook Pro 25 computer keyboard for 25 times.

During this experiment, the process of recording audio took place, which was later transferred to the artificial intelligence tool.
The tool was able to define a specific pattern for each key.

To prove their hypothesis, the researchers placed an iPhone 17 cm away from a Mac Pro computer to record the sound of someone tapping the keys.

The researchers were able to infer writing content with 95 percent accuracy in this experiment.

The researchers used the “Zoom” program to bring the sounds of clicking on specific computer keys, and the accuracy of the results was 93 percent.

Ehsan Tureni, from the University of Surrey’s Center for Cyber Security, says each key has a unique sound that helps infer what is being tapped.
