“Artificial intelligence will never replace us”

In just ten minutes, artificial intelligence has created a website, a business plan, an investor pitch and an entire year of Instagram posts.

180 managers

The Carlemany Forum has celebrated the fifth Supertransversal with the participation of 180 managers and directors, a number that had never been achieved in any of the previous four editions. They have been represented there 78 companies from the Girona counties of the 100 that are currently associated with the entity. The event took place in the Girona Auditorium and under the slogan “AI, engine of company transformation”, aimed to raise awareness among Girona’s entrepreneurs of the present and future challenges they will have to face at the moment of implementing artificial intelligence and what impact this technology currently has and will have in the short, medium and long term in the world of work.

The day included presentations by experts in the field such as Xavier Ferràs (ESADE), Regina Llopis (AIA Group) and Pau Garcia-Milà (Founderz) to find out first-hand what the current situation is in this field, predict what is what will happen tomorrow and raise real cases of some companies. Attendees also had an hour to divide into working groups for discuss and share experiences from benchmarking on the main theme of this Supertransversallooking for possible solutions and applications in their respective companies.

Xavier Ferràs, professor of Operations, Innovation and Data Sciences at ESADE, gave the first presentation of the day. Entitled “Hacking the future: Innovating in the age of AI”, it offered a global view on digitization in the business world, the role that artificial intelligence plays in it and what is its impact at the level international «We are in an unprecedented cognitive revolution that affects all areas of our society“, he affirmed. In addition, he assured that “innovating is a concept that means much more than improving”. For her part, Regina Llopis, president of the AIA Group (Applications in Advanced Computing) explained that big companies have already “embraced” AI and that “now is the time” for SMEs to do sowhich will allow many areas of these companies to be improved.

Sandra Masoliver, president of the Carlemany Forum and CEO of Masoliver, gave a very positive assessment of the day, highlighting the high level of participation: “We are very happy, the expectations were very high and we have exceeded them. The 180 attendees and the 78 participating companies represent the best numbers of the Supertransversal, which was born in 2019 and has been growing and evolving over time. Last year it welcomed 49 different companies and 130 managers and directors, under the motto “Challenges and opportunities in the creation of sustainable value. BCorp Movement». Topics such as female talent in industries or the management of the coronavirus have also been addressed.
