Artists Association fundraiser for flood victims

Bangladesh Film Artists Association has always stood by the people in dire situations of the country. The role of artists association was commendable especially during the corona epidemic. This time, the artist association has started preparing to go to the flood victims with relief. The organization has also started fundraising activities for flood-affected people and those injured in the anti-discrimination student movement.

Yesterday (August 26) afternoon, organizing secretary Joy Chowdhury sat to collect funds at the office of Shilpi Samiti. He said, ‘Though we don’t work collectively, artists have been working since day one. The general secretary of the association, Monowar Hossain Dipzal, has started relief activities on an individual initiative. It is an organization. Any decision cannot be taken at will. The meeting was held yesterday, I have started the activities today.’

On the first day of fundraising, Shilpi Samiti collected Tk 3 lakh. Besides, some daily necessities have been collected as relief. Joy said that relief collection activities will continue till next Thursday. Joy also said that they will be sent to the right place after the collection process is over.

In 2022, Bangladesh Film Artists Association extended a helping hand to Sylhet flood victims. Along with the association, artists have stood by the flood victims through personal initiatives. The list includes Manowar Hossain Dipjal, Apu Biswas, Mukti, Anna, Joy Chowdhury, Neer etc.
