It has been reported that a person has been arrested in connection with the robbery of jewelery worth 11 crore rupees from Chennai Arumbakkam Federal Bank. Tamil Nadu DGP Shailendrababu has said that a reward of one lakh rupees will be given to people who give clues about the bank robbery. Meanwhile, CCTV footage of the robbers riding a two-wheeler has been released.
Cash and jewelery were looted from a locker in the gold jewelery loan section of the Federal Bank in Arumbakkam, Chennai. It appears that Murugan and two other employees of the same bank tied up the bank guard at gunpoint and robbed the jewelery from the locker by giving anesthesia to the guard of the bank.
Based on the information given by the bank manager, the police led by Additional Commissioner of Police North Zone conducted an investigation. 6 special teams have been formed to trace the robbers. A separate force has been rushed to Tiruvannamalai. Police have arrested 15 people associated with Murugan in this incident and are investigating. It has been reported that Murugan’s relative Balaji has been arrested by the police.
The police are hopeful that they will be able to nab the jewelers very soon. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu DGP Shailendra Babu has said that a reward of one lakh rupees will be given to anyone who gives a clue about the bank robbery. He informed that the public can contact the numbers 044-28 44 77 03, 044-23 45 23 24 and the details of informers will be kept confidential.
It had already been announced that a reward of one lakh rupees would be given to the policemen who caught the robbers. In this case, the CCTV footage of the jewelers fleeing on a motorcycle has been released. Based on that, the police have accelerated the investigation.
In this case, the police said that half of the gold stolen from the bank has been recovered. While 32 kg of gold was looted yesterday, police said that 15 kg of gold has been recovered today.
