jpnn.comSOUTH KALIMANTAN – PT Arutmin Indonesia (Arutmin) will hold free cataract surgery in June 2024 in two places, namely the Arutmin North Pulau Laut Coal Terminal (NPLCT) Clinic, North Pulau Laut District, Kotabaru Regency, South Kalimantan Province and the KH Mansyur Regional General Hospital (RSUD), Kintap District, Tanah Laut Regency.

A total of 140 residents from three districts, namely Tanah Laut, Tanah Bumbu, and Kotabaru have benefited from free cataract surgery.

Arutmin collaborates with Dr. Reinhard Arie Umboh and Dr. Roy Stave Winslow Umboh and their team.

The Public Health Center (Puskesmas) and medical team from KH Mansyur Regional Hospital, and Pangeran Sumitra Kotabaru Regional Hospital as well as the Health Office of Tanahlaut, Tanah Bumbu and Kotabaru Districts also support this program.

The people around the mine feel very helped by this activity. Their eyesight gradually improved after the surgery and became capital to be able to work again to earn a living for their families.

Limited access and health facilities can be overcome with Arutmin’s initiative in collaboration with the eye clinic led by Dr. Reinhard Arie Umboh.

In addition to performing free cataract surgery, Arutmin also provides post-operative health examination and socialization services, assisted by the local Community Health Center and Regional Hospital.

Kintap Sub-district Head, Sutarno, welcomed and appreciated the free cataract surgery for residents in need.
